End of the Beginning

Philippe Paquette

I just had to share with you this song that I find extremely well written because it is a story in itself, one that brings us to the Greatest Man on Earth, our Lord, Jesus of Nazareth.

The End of the Beginning by David Phelps is a masterpiece.

This is rendered by the great David Phelps, a Tenor and well known among many Christians. But for the few who may not know David or this song, I thought I would share this. I confess that as a “Northerner” and Canadian and not brought up in a Christian Family (even if my Mother and some of my siblings eventually became believers), I did not know this singer nor this song until today. Today, on Facebook, someone shared this presentation and I had to pass it on to you. I love the words of this song, I love the way David renders it and this is for your enjoyment (especially to those, like myself, that did not know this wonderful Christian Art work of amazing musical talent). #WeAreN _______ #philippepaquette _______ Artist: Birth name David Norris Phelps Born October 21, 1969 Texas, United States Genres Southern gospel, Christian Occupation(s) Musician, singer, songwriter Instruments Vocals, piano Years active 1994–present Labels Springhill, Word Associated acts Gaither Vocal Band Website: http://www.davidphelps.com/ “Phelps is a lyric tenor whose trademark is his large range, featuring an ability to sing in a high tessitura for sustained periods. Live recordings, whether by himself or with the Gaithers, indicate he has more than a three octave full voicerange. In the first verse of “Just as I Am”, from the album Revelation, Phelps sings an E2. This is attested by live performances. During a performance of “When God Dips His Love in My Heart”, he ably sings an F5, full voice, and sustains it for a significant period of time. During his time with the Gaither Vocal Band, his high tessitura was employed often. He was introduced to Bill Gaither by Mark Lowry, who was, the baritone in the group. Lowry brought Gaither a tape of Phelps. During a live performance of “Child you’re forgiven” (originally recorded in the album “God is Good”) he sings a D5, and holds it with ease and significant strength. It used to be believed that he has sung a C#6 in studio…” (this last claim remains uncertain: Ed.). 1. Hearing this song blessed me today. Sometimes we feel pretty down and something pops up that helps you and reminds you that He is with us all the time. Yesterday I felt pretty mistreated and I came home from work and thought, “No. I am a daughter of THE king and I am not going to put up with this.” Thank you for this song today.

    • You are most welcome Julee Reeves.

We live to try to edify our brothers and sisters daily. We are humbled and very pleased that David Phelps was useful to you today. Keep looking up. That is where our future lies… and we soon shall be Glorious with HIM… HE that rose again… Maranatha.
